Miyachi Unitek at MD&M Minneapolis

MONROVIA, CA - Miyachi Unitek Corporation, a leading manufacturer of welding equipment and laser processing systems, announces it will be highlighting its new Mu Desktop Galvo Laser Welding System at the Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) Minneapolis conference and exposition, to be held October 31-November 1, 2012, at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minnesota, Booth # 1525. The compact Mu Desktop Galvo Laser Welding System is ideal for making multiple spot welds on medical devices and for medical device assembly. The Sigma Laser tube cutting system will also be shown that offers high speed and high precision cutting of stainless and nitinol materials.
Applications engineers will be available at the booth to discuss using the latest welding systems plus other applications, such as, marking, cutting and micro machining for medical device manufacturing. In addition, Miyachi Unitek’s, Dr. Mark Boyle, will be speaking about application and system innovations including our proprietary position-based firing method at the conference’s Innovations in Technology track. The session will be held on Thursday, November 1st, 2012 at 2:00pm in the Innovation Briefs Theater, booth #1729.
The Mu Desktop Galvo Laser Welding System on display is the company’s newest laser welding system, and features the motion capabilities of a stage-based system in a highly compact footprint. Fiber and Nd:YAG compatible, the new system has an average power of up to 500W, and a high speed galvo motion. The Class 1 mini workstation has a number of configurations, one with a vertical door, providing quick access for loading and unloading. Options include through-the-lens vision, extraction, and custom tooling. The Mu is also available in a Class 4 configuration, and may also be configured as a welding sub-system for machine integration.
