Our Parent & the Miyachi Group Companies
Miyachi Unitek Corporation's parent company, Miyachi Corporation (MHC), was founded in 1972 to manufacture and market semiconductor-related measuring instruments and welding control equipment in response to the demand for quality control in the automobile, television, and electronics industries. The company incorporated microprocessors and other electronic devices into its resistance welders to enable high quality precision joining and monitoring and analysis. Its weld checkers are used worldwide for weld monitoring.
In 1984, MHC developed a neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser welder that allowed for more precise and micro welding, and this product line became a central component of the company's business, along with resistance welding. In recent years, it has advanced into laser marking, with the development of small and powerful Nd:YAG and neodymium-doped yttrium orthovanadate (Nd:YV04) laser markers.
MHC has 965 employees (consolidated) 10 sales offices and 2 factories in Japan, 8 subsidiary companies (Miyachi Unitek Corporation (MUC), Miyachi Europe Corporation(MEC), Miyachi Brazil (MBL), Miyachi Korea Corporation(MKC), Miyachi China Corporation (MCC), Miyachi Thailand Co, (MTC), Miyachi India Limited (MIL), Miyachi Taiwan Corporation (MTW), and Miyachi Vietnam Ltd (MVL)) and 4 factories overseas (China, USA, Germany, Thailand). The corporation is publicly listed on the Tokyo stock exchange (6885:XTKS). Annual net sales for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2012 were 20,282 million yen. Operating income in FY 2012 was 1,257 million yen.
